On June 7, 2025, Vectrex enthusiasts will gather in Ciudad Real for a unique event : a national meeting dedicated to this legendary console in Spain. Organized as part of the RetroReal “Cacharreo Party” this edition will spotlight one of the most original gaming systems of the 1980s.
RetroReal
RetroReal is an annual event well known among Spanish fans of retro computing and vintage consoles. With its warm atmosphere and “cacharreo” philosophy (the joy of tinkering with hardware), the event draws both seasoned enthusiasts and curious newcomers. Interactive booths, live repairs, playable consoles, retro tournaments, and a dedicated arcade area… RetroReal is a true vintage playground. Each year features a new theme, and in 2025, the spotlight will be on the Vectrex.
A unique console for a unique gathering
Released in 1982, the Vectrex stands out with its built-in vector screen and futuristic aesthetic. Although it had limited commercial success, it enjoys a lasting cult following thanks to its uniqueness and active homebrew scene.
At RetroReal 2025, a dedicated area will celebrate the Vectrex : several consoles will be on display and fully playable, featuring both classic titles and modern games developed by the community. It’s the perfect chance to discover (or rediscover) this technological gem.

“I had never tried a Vectrex […] I made it to level 4. It’s a really fun game, but it gets tough as you progress! […] I really liked it 🥰”
A sentiment that perfectly captures the spirit of RetroReal : sparking nostalgia while building new connections to the past.
