Today we wanted to tell you a little about our team. Relaunching a console is never a matter of chance. Behind the Vectrex Mini project there are encounters, but above all a lot of passion and perseverance. Each member of the team has brought their know-how and energy to bring this project to life, a project that at first seemed almost impossible.
It All Starts with Passion
David (who could easily be described as a true geek) has been passionate about retro gaming for more than 30 years. Over time, he worked for many years in book publishing, created “Nuit au ciné” and the podcast “Agence Tous Geek”, among many other projects that are too numerous to list… He has also been collecting beautiful consoles for many years. Back in 1983, when he discovered the Vectrex in Europe, he was immediately impressed and fell in love with it, just like many of us. Over time, he acquired several consoles, including two that no longer work today. He was already dreaming of something new for the Vectrex.

The Decisive Encounter with Neo Retro
Things really took off when he met Julien from Neo Retro. Julien is also a fan of the Vectrex, but more importantly, he owns the rights to the brand. Talking with David, he immediately understood the value of bringing the console back to life. For David, his passion for retro systems and mini versions was just waiting to be expressed. The idea of the Vectrex Mini came naturally. What remained was to see if such a project was technically achievable, which was already a challenge in itself.
The First Prototype
The answer came thanks to Eric from Retro Reliks. Even before our collaboration, he had built a miniature version of the Vectrex for himself. His work became the starting point. By working with him, we were able to show that industrial manufacturing was possible. This prototype played a key role because it made the jump from dream to tangible demonstration.

The Growth of the Project
We then worked on improving the prototype so it would match our vision and what we want to offer. The further the project went, the clearer it became that we needed to be present on social media for it to keep moving forward. That was the moment when Priam (me!) joined the team to take care of the website and the social media. I handle sharing updates with the community and maintaining that essential connection. It’s also a big job to create all the visuals for the Vectrex Mini. So for rendered images, we have the help of Jose, an English designer who has created many illustrations showing what the Mini will look like once finished.
Finding the Right Partners
A console cannot come to life without a reliable production partner. David spent several weeks in Asia, especially in Shenzhen in China and in Taiwan, to find a factory capable of taking on this challenge with seriousness and passion. This groundwork was essential to ensure a quality production that remains faithful to the spirit of the Vectrex.
Recently, Chris, known from GamesYouLoved, joined the adventure. His experience with crowdfunding campaigns is a major asset. He helps us prepare for the most delicate stage, the one that turns a passion project into a product that players all over the world can enjoy.
A Collective Project Driven by Personal Passion
David, and all of us, are putting all our energy into making the Vectrex Mini a reality. We keep working hard, and it’s also a real pleasure to see the reactions and suggestions from the community since we revealed the project. After three years of work, we were beginning to wonder if it would really happen, but your feedback gives us the strength to push further.
