The Portland Retro Gaming Expo 2025 (PRGE 2025) once again proved to be one of the world’s greatest gatherings for classic video game enthusiasts. Hundreds of arcade machines, beautifully displayed retro consoles, collector booths, many special guests, and an atmosphere like no other.
Welcomed by Intellivision Revolution
At PRGE 2025, we had the pleasure of being invited to the Intellivision Revolution booth, where we were warmly welcomed. Their entire team was amazing, and we want to give them a huge thank you. Their booth was full of life, always surrounded by curious visitors, and we were thrilled to showcase the Vectrex Mini there.
For those who may not know, Intellivision Revolution is a true reference for all fans of the iconic console, a passionate site that keeps the Intellivision spirit alive through games, homebrew projects, and an ever-active community. Meeting Jon from GenXGrownUp
Before the show, we shipped Jon from GenXGrownUp an American Vectrex along with a prototype of the Vectrex Mini. You can watch his video discovering the consoles on YouTube:
At PRGE, we finally met Jon in person and showed him the most advanced version of our prototype to date. His reaction matched our expectations perfectly, and you can see it in this YouTube short. Moments like these motivate us even more to fine-tune every detail to deliver the best possible experience.
An exclusive: the Vectrex Mini kiosk
For PRGE 2025, we prepared a special surprise: a Vectrex Mini kiosk, a faithful miniature replica of the original display stand from the era. This gem was created by Dave, a passionate Vectrex fan who reached out to us shortly after the Mini’s announcement. His work is exceptional. He recreated the original kiosks with incredible precision, even using the same types of materials from the 1980s. The result was stunning and caught many admiring looks throughout the weekend.
We know many of you would love to own one of these miniature kiosks. Nothing is decided yet, but we’ll be discussing it with Dave. There will likely be very few of them, so stay tuned!
Exciting encounters and new perspectives
As always at major events, we met wonderful people. Many visitors discovered the Vectrex Mini for the first time, and their enthusiasm truly moved us. We also had great conversations with collectors, influencers, and talented creators, all driven by the same passion for retro gaming.
Without revealing too much, here’s a little spoiler for the curious: we met someone from Atari… who knows, maybe an opportunity to negotiate Berzerk for the Vectrex Mini? To be continued!
See you soon!
This 2025 edition of the Portland Retro Gaming Expo was an incredible experience for our very first time in the United States. The Vectrex Mini keeps gaining ground, and we’ll see you on November 1st and 2nd in France for the Paris Games Week, right before the Kickstarter launch! A huge thank-you to everyone who came to see us and to all who shared photos and videos on social media. See you soon!
